Trusting experience that leads to nowhere.
When I was thinking about the past...
Of WHY I didn't continue my studies immediately after I finished my bachelor studies...
I encounter the same thing here, in my internship period.
The past, because I was trapped in a negative one, stigma.
That stigma means: "the pharmacist salary isn't worth it, compared to the work load."
Currently, I met people that's also trapped in a positive stigma, but I'd rather called it 'word of mouth marketing'.
It's also the same 'tactic' that I've heard when I was a new uni student:
"Pharmacist have a bright future, and easy to find work."
The former might be true, but the latter - it's an absolute lie.
Learning this profession, doing the internship - or any other studies, it was never meant to find work.
Studying hard are never a guarantee to have success and becoming rich.
But alas, the 'newbie' always believed what the predecessor said.
Before they eventually get shattered by the reality that:
Finding work is competitive,
Becoming an employee is not easy,
(well easier than employer but not that easy either)
Starting a retail pharmacy immediately after is not easy (again, competition)
So, the newbie, that knows nothing about:
'Getting a clear purpose',
Have a deep research of who are they serving beforehand, and
No idea how to compete with 1000+ jobseeker with the same degree...
Is the easiest to get indoctrinated.
See how it resonates with marketing:
No idea why this business exist,
Not knowing who is your customers, and
No idea how to stand out from the crowd.
Maybe the case studies for the statement above is from the lucky ones:
They already have their path set up for them, and all they need to do is follow it to the T.
But with those success stories, have you ever really asked, "is it that easy for you?"

The reason why I didn't continue immediately is simple:
I was scared of what I've seen in reality, hence, I realized...
I know I don't have a clear purpose yet.
I don't do a wild goose chase.
I don't want to become an insurance agent😅 and certainly,
I don't want this knowledge to sink just because the 'income' is not what I'm worth.
After I'm sure that #InternationalPharmacistCopywriter is what I aimed for, I go with it without stopping or looking back, ever since.
