řadu rolí jsem získala díky #selftape
Zjišťuju, že hodně kolegů herců stále tápe, vidí v tom víc, než to je.
Přeceňují technickou stránku věci a podceňují to, že stojí za to se vyhecovat, kousnout se a udělat to. Jakkoli, nejlépe jak to jde za daných okolností.
Většina těchto castingů mě zastihla na cestě, v hotelových pokojích, ve vlaku, na horské chatě… Protože castingy nečekají, až budete v teple domova, obklopeni technikou a svolným kolegou či partnerem.
Chodí ve vlnách, dva roky nic a pak ve čtrnácti dnech třeba čtyři po sobě. Když jste sami bez možnosti, aby vám někdo pomohl.
Dostala jsem se k natáčení až zhruba kolem 35, do té doby jsem byla naplno v divadlech a Zdravotní klaun.
A poněvadž český rybník byl malý a já neznámá herečka (tehdy v Brně), začala jsem se učit krok za krokem a zkusila to nejdřív v zahraničních projektech.
Tam se tehdy #selftape používal v době, kdy v Čechách byl ještě málem sprostým slovem.
První #selftape jsem točila snad 50x. Neuměla ho ustřihnout, přisvítit, ani ozvučit. Byl na „rybí oko“ kamery na počítači. Byla jsem "moc", ale autentická.
Byl německy. V pozadí slyšet sirény zvenku a namáčknutá jsem byla na kuchyňské lince a snažila se zakrývat hřebík na zdi, která byla žlutá.
Byl to dialog a já si musela představovat odpovědi kolegy a reagovat na ticho, protože jsem neměla s kým to udělat a muselo to být "asap".
Poslala jsem to a neznala wetransfer ani google disc. Nahrála jsem to tedy na youtube a poslala link, neuměla jsem to tehdy jinak.
Tu roli jsem dostala. (Casting měl tři kola a tenhle #selftape byl první velké síto).
Bylo to pro mě moc důležité. Zažila jsem, že to jde.
Začala jsem se učit, jak to udělat příště lépe. Studovala jsem na youtube, googlila, zašla jsem na Masteclass…a hlavně začala dělat další a další self tapy.
A chci se s vámi na pokračování podělit o to, jak to dělám teď, abyste se vyhnuli zbytečným chybám. Nebo se prostě jen inspirovali, jak na to. Dělám to teď totiž velmi rychle a efektivně.
Dělám to po svém, jak mi to funguje a jak to umím. Neříkám, že správně. Je pár zásadních pravidel, ale je to vaše. Naučit se pravidla a pak je občas porušovat. To je moje cesta. Vystupovat z davu. A překvapit i sama sebe.
Je to vaše.
My fellow actors,
I've gotten a number of roles thanks to #selftape
I find that a lot of fellow actors are still floundering, seeing it for more than it is.
They overestimate the technical side of things and underestimate the fact that it's worth taking the plunge, bite the bullet and do it. However, best you can under the circumstances.
Most of these casting calls have found me on the road, in hotel rooms, on the train, in a mountain cabin... Because casting calls don't wait for you to be in the warmth of your home, surrounded by technology and a willing colleague or partner.
They come in waves, nothing for two years and then maybe four in a fortnight. When you're on your own with no one to help you.
I didn't get into filmmaking until I was about 35, by then I was fully into theatres and Health Clown.
And since the Czech pond was small and I was an unknown actress (then in Brno), I started learning step by step and tried my hand at foreign projects first.
There, #selftape was used at a time when it was still almost a dirty word in the Czech Republic.
I shot my first #selftape maybe 50 times. She didn't know how to cut it, light it, or sound it. It was on a fisheye camera on a computer. I was "too much" but authentic.
It was in German. You could hear sirens in the background from outside and I was crammed on the kitchen counter trying to cover a nail on the wall that was yellow.
It was a dialogue and I had to imagine my colleague's responses and react to the silence because I had no one to do it with and it had to be "asap".
I sent it and didn't know wetransfer or google disc. So I uploaded it to youtube and sent the link, I didn't know any other way at the time.
I got the part. (Casting had three rounds and this #selftape was the first big sieve).
It was very important to me. I experienced that it was possible.
I started learning how to do it better next time. I studied on youtube, googled, went to Masteclass...and most importantly started making more and more self tapes.
And I want to share with you on the sequel how I do it now to avoid unnecessary mistakes. Or just get inspired on how to do it. Because I do it very quickly and efficiently now.
I'm doing it my way, how it works for me and how I know how to do it. I'm not saying it's right. There are a few ground rules, but it's yours. Learn the rules and then break them occasionally. That's my way. Standing out from the crowd. And surprise even myself.
