What happened to Malaysian Airlines MH370?

Jul 05, 2024

Flight MH370 from Malaysia Airlines, departing from Kuala Lumpur on March 8, 2014, never reached its destination. The flight was bound for Beijing, China, carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew members. The passengers were primarily Chinese, with a few from 13 other countries. The captain was the highly experienced 53-year-old Zaharie Ahmad Shah, and the first officer was 27-year-old Fariq Abdul Hamid.

This year marks ten years since the plane mysteriously disappeared. What happened and where the plane vanished has never been clarified. The plane took off as scheduled at 00:41. Everything was normal, and weather conditions were good. But after a short flight, the plane made an unexpected turn back towards Malaysia. It then sharply turned west towards the Indian Ocean. The plane was tracked by land radar, then picked up by military radar, and the last signals were faintly captured by some satellites. After about two hours, there was nothing. The plane seemed to disappear into a radar-free zone. What happened, and why did the plane make these inexplicable course changes?

Search efforts have found wreckage, but no evidence of the crash site has emerged. The focus has been on the captain, but his family described him as a harmonious family man. The Malaysian authorities stated in their official report: “The PIC’s (pilot in command) ability to handle stress at work was reported to be good. There was no known history of apathy, anxiety, or irritability. There were no significant changes in his lifestyle, interpersonal conflict, or family stresses … There were no behavioural signs of social isolation, change of habits or interest …”

In July 2019, the American magazine The Atlantic published an interesting and thorough story about the mysterious disappearance of flight MH370. It revealed that the captain owned two houses. His wife had left him, and they lived in separate houses. He had previously suffered from severe depression. But most thought-provoking or frightening is the information that he had installed a flight simulation system in one of his houses. A file was found where, a month prior, he had simulated a flight over the Indian Ocean where the plane runs out of fuel. Could the crash be due to a deliberate act on his part?

This is not the first time a pilot has deliberately led passengers to their deaths. In March 2015, co-pilot Andreas Lubitz locked the cockpit door on the captain and flew Lufthansa's Germanwings Flight 9525 with 144 passengers and six crew members at high speed straight into a cliff in the French Alps. All perished. The plane was en route from Barcelona to Düsseldorf. It was later revealed that Andreas Lubitz suffered from severe depression.

The disappearance of Flight MH370 continues to be regarded as one of the greatest mysteries in aviation history.

We will ask the cards: what happened to flight MH370, which took off on April 24, 2014, at 00:41 from Kuala Lumpur?

The first thing that stands out is the absence of clubs. Communication with the outside world or control towers on the ground is very sparse or non-existent. Additionally, all the card numbers are part of the personal number sequence 1-4-7-10-13. This points to the incident being caused by a single person. The 4 of spades and the 10 of spades form a sinister or fateful frame around the spread. Note that the King of Hearts is flanked by two 4s. The king can only refer to the captain. The 4 of spades and the 4 of diamonds indicate a man with a complicated mind and depressive tendencies. The two cards together can signify a cold and cynical mindset. With the 4 of diamonds in the middle or heart of the spread, the action seems planned and well-prepared. Yes, the arrow definitely points towards the captain. The King of Hearts mirrors the 7 of diamonds, and with 4 of diamonds placed just before the 7 of diamonds, it seems part of the plan is to create a smokescreen over the tragedy. For the plan apparently is - as the 10 of spades as the last card suggests - to lead the plane to the abyss, deep down to the ocean floor.

The conclusion must be that everything points to the captain having planned the crash and acted alone.

Cards: Ciel de France (1950)
