Whoever went on their 'Honeymoon' with 22 others ? !! I did in 1985, when with Wife Number 2 we went to EGYPT with the Pentax Club of Great Britain ! After a stay in Cairo -- YES FOLKS -- that is ME on the CAMEL much YOUNGER ! we boarded a Nile Cruiser all the way to the Aswan Dam and Abu
Simbel from where we flew back to Cairo. On the way we stopped in Karnack, Luxor, Philae etc and our Egyptian Guide Lady told us all about the carvings and statues. I caught DYSENTERY on the boat and spent ages in the cabin, missing the Valley of The Kings trip and various Nile 'Locks' , Needless to say , I did not feel very 'Romantic' ! Ha Ha ! I took a PENTAX ME Super for B&W film and a PENTAX Program -A for Slide film. ABU SIMBEL was where a BOND film was made and we went through the door into a huge Cavern where all the struts were holding up the huge statues which had been cut up and re-located away from the flooded valley. I used some 'Cokin' effect filters on some shots. if any of you go to Egypt, take plenty of MEDICATIONS as Arab Food Preparation is a bit 'Suspect' !!
