With the B1G Ten completing its championship meet Sunday, and the results of the various conference and last chance meets now posted, we now present our projected qualifiers for the NCAA Division I First Round meet, which will be contested starting May 27-30th in Fayetteville, Arkansas (West Region) and Lexington, Kentucky (East Region).
The top 48 athletes in each of the two regions on the descending order lists will advance to the regional meet. From there, the top 12 individuals in each event advance to the national championship meet in Eugene, Oregon June 10-13th.
The information is based on the TFRRS NCAA Division I descending order list as of Sunday May 17th, which is the final day to record a qualifying mark for the first round of the national championships.
You can access the descending order lists either through the TFRRS site, or through the NCAA Championships first round microsite.
In this list, we have organized it by school for the four Washington Division I schools who qualified athletes to the West Regional meet (Seattle University as of now has no qualifiers, pending any scratches between now and Thursday when the NCAA makes the official announcement), and then a separate section for those athletes with Washington ties who qualified for either the West or East Regionals.
Those athletes in the latter section either attended high school in the state of Washington, or started their collegiate career at one of the five Washington Division I schools and transferred to another school.
As a disclaimer, I may have missed someone with Washington ties who either attended high school, or began their career at a Washington school. Please don't hesitate to send any additions, deletions, omissions, etc.
Also, I have intentionally omitted athletes who are likely to qualify on relay teams, as they can be substituted by their schools. No Washington school qualified a team in the four relay events.
In the section of athletes from Washington schools, I've listed athletes who are ranked either 49th or 50th on the West descending order list. Those are indicated with a * next to their ranking. There is a possibility that others outside the top 48 will advance to the regionals, depending on scratches.
