Home front

Jun 04, 2024

A subject needn't be grand to grip.

I sensed drama with these figures.

I snapped the scene in a second, and didn't touch a thing.

When I got home, the picture revealed itself in stages.

Details I'd not noticed came to the fore.

I love the glimpses of picket, porch, and front door: touchstones of home.

The letterbox label is a riot. Who made it, and why?

Finally, the distant figure suggests we're seeing just a small part of a larger picture.

Who knows what battles go on behind the blinds?
