Hello friends and supporters!
It was a little unrealistic to think I could be making music all the time so soon after cancer treatment. That last eighteen months was arduous to say the least.
I need help.
I need musicians and technicians.
So I’ve been searching, and that takes time.
But now I’ve connected at last with a drummer that fits me.
We both walked in cold and he didn’t know the song.
One take and one take only.
I’ve never played this song for anyone, or with anyone.
SUPER satisfying, to play one of my songs with someone else.
Doesn’t matter if it’s a little rough around the edges.
I hear the potential.
And I feel the connection.
This is something I wrote near the time of my cancer diagnosis.
Maybe you know what it’s like, to feel on the edge of a breakdown.
Your mind can’t stop racing with dozens of things.
And they’re all heavy.
You feel like you’re getting buried, or force fed.
Feels like falling apart would be the very best thing for your health.
Like surrendering control is the only way to begin to put yourself back together.
I have many other songs I’d rather put out right now.
But this is what I have to give.
Hope you like it.
Thanks for your support and appreciation.
Love, Paul ❤️
Need To Fall Apart (lyrics)
Time, and money
Pressing me in directions, I can’t always be
Talkin’ expectation, talkin’ bout pushin’
River flows, my time it goes
Rushing over me
I got to stop
My thinking
I gotta move
When I’m so weak and tired
Anxious thoughts, and worry
Pull me down further
Feels like I can’t breathe
Drowning when the water get too high
Reaching out for what’ll get me by
And it’s lonely
Spirit knows, my time it goes
Rushing over me
I got to stop
My thinking
I gotta move
When I’m so weak and tired
I need to fall apart
