Word of Summer : Groceries ?

Word of Summer : Groceries ?

Jun 28, 2026

While I have kept up on the decluttering, I have found that everyone is shopping for groceries in France, China and me here in Oz ( San Francisco Bay Area). Utilizing a system or just having a list is really not enough.

For me, I like chicken but, so much chicken and rice can drive you a little nuts. So I mix up Mirepoix from Trader Joe's with a can of tuna to make a modified tuna salad. When I get tired of that its ground turkey meat with a bag of vegetables and pasta with the canned tomatoes I got in January. These meals are portioned out into containers and help satisfy #Lunch while I work. Its when I get home or need to get home that I really falter because its just easier to go get a $5 Taco at the taqueria then wait 80 minutes to arrive home and make a sliced turkey and cheese sandwich.

I have been by bodies of water and I have been looking at prices for groceries everywhere. Basically my homemade lunch is getting more valuable because I can "save" the money for later. I am saving around $100 a week by not buying lunch outside. Yet, there are days I need a break and I have to take my lunch outside and recently I got a salad it was $20 for the salad alone.

One true way to save on groceries is to utilize your community from #foodclosets to the Too Good To Go app that might introduce you to a huge bag of bread from a bakery or a big bag of rice from a grocery store. This is just one way to beat the inflation creep in your grocery bill.

If you can plant food like tomatoes or Squash today because in 60 days it will be perfect to savings to enjoy !

In closing, basically the videos are on Vimeo

once a month and every Saturday I am posting on YouTube most of these videos are planned out so if there is a spontaneity its going to be the Shorts. If you thought it was going to be a hot summer ...it is just for #Groceries ;).
