It's clearly been sometime since the last update, but there have been a few changes to point out. For now, the Web version is my focus -- you can read about the last version here.
Chat Updates
You can now disable message streaming in Settings -> Chat, which will display a placeholder "{Buddy || AI} is typing..." while loading the AI's response.
Option to use WebLLM for chat (Chrome / Edge only), making the app usable fully in-browser
User Image / Description
Within Settings -> General:
The Profile Image will display for your messages in-chat
Set Your Description to describe yourself however you like, which will be provided to Buddies and Assistant
2 options are given to control whether to provide to Buddies or Assistant
Buddy Images
You can now manually uploading an image for the profile image
Appearance Options for generating an image are now saved
Database Export/Import
In addition to a button to download your app database to a .zip file, there's now a button to import the database from one of those .zip files. You should find that audio files are playable and images are viewable, though it'll be difficult to find certain media -- I'm planning on at least having an option to add e.g. buddy names to files or organize with folders.
Documentation Site
The site is built using Vitepress which allows me to update the pages alongside the app's source code, as well as providing another entrypoint to learn about the app (i.e. I can link to the same page on the docs site and on GitHub).
Discord
I started a Discord server for BuddyGenAI. I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone that uses this app.
