Paola Macas Betchart(she/they) Interdisciplinary Artist | Educator | Activist | Mother | Social Entrepreneur Currently living in Hodinosoni land. (Rochester, NY) Born and raised in Kitu, surrounded by the mountains of the Andes. She is a multifaceted human working at the intersection of art, social science, activism, and education. She is currently writing her first book called Naked Seasons: Confession of a Decolonial Journey. Her artwork has been exhibited at the Rochester Contemporary Art Center, where she won the Visual Studies Award with her video Pertenezco/I Belong. Her work has been selected for juried exhibitions at the Yards Art Collective and the Memorial Art Gallery of Rochester. Paola earned a BA in Ecology and Tourism from the Pontificate Catholic University of Ecuador in Quito, a BA in Anthropology from the Universite Libre de Brussels, Belgium, and an MA in Anthropology and Sustainable Development from Universite Aix-Marseille, France. Paola enjoys travel, yoga, dance, cooking healthy food, and spending time outdoors with her kids and partners.
