Clash of Empires

Have you ever heard that canon law is the highest law.

Do not confuse this with Vatican canon law.

A canon is a norm, standard ,

, rule, maxim and measures that stand UNCONTESTED over time.

I’ll bet you have never heard the following canon.

“All law is first AURICULAR” (spoken)

Your word is your bond

With that in mind I’d like to share the following story.

The story is about a clash of empires.

In 1532 Francisco Pizarro, cousin of Cortez heard of gold treasures in the Inca empire. He had also learned the empire was in disarray as the last Sapa Inka and his heir passed away due to smallpox. A disease imported by the Europeans.

This left Atahualpa who ruled from Quito and his half brother Huascar who ruled from Cuzco fighting for the throne. This caused a civil war where Atahualpa was victorious.

This is when Francisco Pizarro and his 200 conquistadors show up and takes advantage of the situation.

Atahualpa sees no danger in the number compared to his 80,000 plus army.

Pizarro invited Atahualpa for a feast in Cajamarca to celebrate his success.

Atahualpa left his warriors on the mountains and was accompanied by an unarmed entourage of a few 1000 .

Upon entering Cajamarca Atahualpa was greeted by friar who accompanied Pizarro. The friar tried to convert the emperor to Christianity and offered him a Bible.

The friar said I get my authority from the word of god. The Bible is the word of God.

Atahualpa had never seen a book before so he sifted through the pages and the he placed the book next to his ear - “I hear nothing” he said  as threw the book away.

This act triggered the friar who signalled to Pizarro to start the attack.

Canons and Guns went off and many were killed.

Atahualpa was captured by Pizarro and placed in jail. It was more of means of controlling Atahualpa s loyalists from starting trouble.

Though he was in prison he still wielded great power - he ordered Huascars execution for he felt the Spaniards were going to usurp his throne with Huascar.

The Spaniards also heard rumours that Atahualpas generals were mounting an offensive to rescue their emperor.

Atahualpa was then charged with rebellion. As heathen the sentence was death by burning.

The Inka believe the ancestors watch over the living so they would mummify their dead before burial.

Atahualpa was in a bind.

I don’t know if it was the Inka or the Spaniards that demanded a ransom for the emperor.

A big room about 6 feet tall was filled once with gold and twice with silver over a few months to pay the ransom. This never came to fruition.

In order not to be burned alive Atahualpa was was baptized Roman Catholic as Francisco.

In July 1533, Atahualpa at the age of 31 - was put to death by strangulation.

After his death the empire declined quickly.

My question is did the son of the sun live by the Canon I mentioned in the beginning?

All Law is first auricular. - meaning all law is first spoken into being.
