A relatively new player in the satellite communicators, Zoleo has been gaining popularity for its ease of use. And we have wanted to integrate Zoleo to our network for some time. With this update, our members with Zoleo devices now are able to communicate with other members via satellite email messaging. This means that we can facilitate communication between inReach, Spot and Zoleo devices even though the users do not know each others' contact information. We believe this is a big step in expanding our network and these devices' capabilities.
As with other satellite devices, it's easy to send a help request or communicate with responders via Zoleo too, but they all work slightly differently. Here's how you can use your Zoleo with OSN. For our systems to process you message, we require your GPS location. Zoleo does NOT include GPS location in the messages, so you'll have to send OSN 2 messages. One, containing your message and then another one containing your GPS location (which can be done automatically by pressing the location button left of the input box). The order of these messages are not important as long as we receive both of them.
