The Vilnius Culture and Spirituality Center, the Polish Institute in Vilnius, the Italian Embassy in Vilnius, and the Pontificium Consilium de Cultura were proud to present organ concert by Vidas Pinkevicius and Ausra Motuzaite-Pinkeviciene last Saturday (May 20, 2023) at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Franciscan Church) in Vilnius. The concert was part of the "Music in the Old Monastery 2023" cycle. The program showcased works by J.S. Bach, J.L. Krebs, E.L. Gerber, J. Haydn, R. Schumann and G.A. Mankell and the incredible sound and beauty of the Baroque-style "Big Blue" organ in the Franciscan Church, built by SLJ Budowa Organów from Poland and Ugāles ērģeļbūves darbnīca, SIA from Latvia. The initiator and author of the project was Andrzej Szadejko from Poland.

Thanks to organist of the Franciscan church Alicja Dacewicz for letting us practice on the Big Blue, Milda Agota Marija Atminaitė for tuning the instrument, Benas Matuzevičius for helping with the donation collection, Regina Karpowicz and the Franciscan fathers for helping to host the event and of course organ builders of the Big Blue - Szymon Lech Januszkiewicz, Jakub Wszołek, Marcin Amadeusz Majak, Jānis Kalniņš and Klāvs Berks! Thanks to our friend Deimantė for video footage at the end! Hope you will enjoy the video replay today!
