She thought she saw him in the crowd
At the crowded railway station of Dadar.
For a brief fleeting moment her heart froze
What awkward conversation will they have
If he actually was her Feroze.
When she realized it was just the trick of her eye
She moved and shook herself up
For she needed to reach her office by nine.
Later in the middle of the night
Lying on the cool sheets she might
Think of him and wonder where he was.
Did he still think of them and wish
They had not cut each other with razor sharp knives
And parted on terms which surgically removed the other from their lives.
Then maybe they could still meet each
And ask how their mothers were doing.
They could tell each other about bad bosses,
Unfinished projects, renter troubles and
The awful dates like old friends.
