How often do you go see your dentist & hygienist? Do you have one?
After working in the dental field for a while, I have realized that a lot of people neglect the dentist. A lot of people only come see us when they have a dental emergency.
Here’s an example:
Patient comes in as a new patient. Gets x-rays, exam & treatment plan. Patient never comes back.
6-12 months later they come in as an dental emergency. Having pain on a tooth that needed a root canal or needed it extracted. Or now that one tooth that needed just a filling now needs a root canal.
Please do not put off dental work. Of course I do understand dental work is expensive but just try and start with what needs to be addressed ASAP. Do not take what your dentist is telling you lightly.
Want a second opinion? That’s perfectly fine. I get patients all the time who are looking for second opinions before they spend some money. Like I said dental work is NOT CHEAP.
Now to avoid extensive dental work, it all starts with your regular check up exams & dental cleanings EVERY 6 MONTHS.
