
As AI moves from chatbots toward persistent agents with memory, permissions, accounts, and the ability to act, memory errors stop being only an information problem. They can become real-world commitments.
The piece develops an idea I’m calling Epistemic Commitment Accounting: working memory can remain imperfect, but consequential actions need a defensible basis, authority path, and execution record.
