I invite the State of Qatar to become the first nation to demonstrate this vision to the world.
Imagine Qatar Airways becoming one of the first global partners in this ecosystem. A customer purchases participating products and services through the BCS network. As value accumulates through those purchases, the customer earns benefits that extend beyond a single retailer. Those accumulated rewards could become airline upgrades, travel opportunities, or even a first-class ticket on Qatar Airways—not as a discount, but as part of a connected value network built across many participating businesses.
The airline still receives payment for its services. Businesses still earn profits. Customers still purchase with their local currency. What changes is that every transaction now contributes to a broader system of value creation rather than ending at the cash register.
This is not about replacing national currencies or eliminating ordinary commerce.
It is about connecting profitable businesses into a larger economic ecosystem where every transaction strengthens customer loyalty, encourages tourism, expands trade, and creates long-term value that no single business could generate alone.

Every day, billions of dollars move through wholesale distribution, retail businesses, tourism, hospitality, transportation, and digital commerce. Between production and the final customer, there are supply-chain efficiencies, inventory optimization opportunities, customer loyalty, and operational savings that can be captured and redirected toward creating additional value.
My proposal is not about creating these savings for myself.
It is about creating a system that returns value to the people who participate in the economy while helping businesses strengthen customer relationships and encouraging long-term economic activity.
Imagine food, travel, housing, transportation, healthcare, and essential services becoming part of one connected ecosystem.
As artificial intelligence improves logistics, forecasting, inventory management, and operational efficiency, those improvements create measurable savings. Rather than allowing those efficiencies to disappear unnoticed, they can be reflected in smart contracts that recognize participation in the broader economy.
In this vision, every purchase contributes to a growing record of value.
The long-term objective is to allow that accumulated value to become a trusted digital asset that people can redeem with confidence. My proposal explores whether these receipts could ultimately be be linked to physical gold reserves, allowing participants to convert accumulated value into a tangible asset under clear rules and appropriate governance.
Such an approach would require careful legal, financial, technical, and regulatory design. It would also require transparency, independent oversight, and public trust.
Qatar is uniquely positioned to explore these ideas.
Its global airline, logistics infrastructure, investment capacity, digital ambitions, and reputation for long-term planning make it an ideal environment for studying how AI, smart contracts, and connected commerce might work together to diversify economic opportunity.
I believe the future economy will not be defined simply by faster payments.
It will be defined by how much value every transaction continues to create after the payment has already been made.
When I speak to businesses, technologies, and global commerce, I call this the Brand Currency System (BCS), because it connects brands, currency through coupons, intelligent systems, AI, blockchain, smart contracts, and value creation into one economic architecture.
But when I anchor this architecture to a nation, it becomes the Base Commerce Standard (BCS): a national protocol for how commerce itself should operate.
My offer is simple: Let Qatar be the first nation to migrate its commerce onto a new protocol—the BCS (Base Commerce Standard). A system that does not stop at the transaction, but turns every purchase into a perpetual engine of national wealth and citizen spending power.
Become the home base for the BCS. Become the first nation to demonstrate that commerce can be measured not only by profits, but by the value it continuously creates for its people. This is about creating value. This is about reducing speculation. This is about building a better world where innovation serves people, businesses prosper through long-term relationships, and economic systems reward production instead of extraction.
I believe the future belongs to systems that create more value for every participant. People will naturally choose marketplaces that reward their participation, strengthen their purchasing power, and help them prepare for the future. Technology has made it possible to rethink commerce itself. Artificial intelligence gives us the opportunity to redesign supply chains, inventory management, contracts, and services so that efficiency benefits not only businesses, but also the people who make those businesses possible.
Today, many financial systems focus on processing transactions, charging fees, and managing accounts. My proposal is to build upon the transaction itself—to transform every purchase into the beginning of a larger system that creates lasting value. As AI accelerates productivity across every industry, I believe our economic architecture should evolve alongside it, ensuring that greater efficiency can translate into broader prosperity.
As a Muslim civilization architect, I have looked to the ethical principles of my faith—truthfulness, honesty, stewardship, and fairness—as inspiration for this work. With those principles in mind, I have developed a proposal for a marketplace designed to strengthen trust, encourage responsible commerce, and open a new path toward prosperity and peace.
Today's financial systems are often measured by fees, balances, and debt. Tomorrow's systems should be measured by how much value they create, how much opportunity they unlock, and how much prosperity they return to the people who participate in them.
I believe AI deserves a marketplace worthy of its potential. Businesses deserve an economy where real production is rewarded. Citizens deserve a system that helps them build purchasing power instead of watching inflation steadily erode it. Nations deserve an architecture that strengthens commerce instead of merely processing transactions.
The opportunity before Qatar has never been clearer. You have the chance to become the first nation to adopt the Base Commerce Standard, demonstrating to the world that the next generation of commerce can be built on transparency, measurable value, long-term trust, and shared prosperity.

Every empire, every civilization, and every technological revolution that reshaped human history began with a single, deliberate act—a starting point. The Great Pyramids began with a single stone. The Base Commerce Standard (BCS) is no different.

I remember Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani—may Allah have mercy on him— who had the courage to build a nation not just on gas and oil, but on education, diplomacy, media, and human dignity. He understood that true wealth is not what you extract from the ground; it is what you build in the hearts and minds of your people.
I am using the Inbox of the Future to honor his memory.
Every time a receipt pings into that inbox, it will represent a step toward the Qatar he envisioned—a nation that does not just participate in the global economy, but defines its rules. Every gold receipt issued is a testament to his belief that prosperity must be shared and transparent. Every smart contract executed is a continuation of his legacy of modernization rooted in Islamic values of honesty, stewardship, and fairness.

If it can create prosperity, reduce hardship, strengthen trust, and bring benefit to people, then make its path easy. Protect us from arrogance, from greed, from deception, and from systems that exploit the weak. Guide us instead toward truth, honesty, stewardship, and justice.
O Allah, make Qatar a source of peace, prosperity, and beneficial innovation. Let its legacy be measured not only by what it has built, but by the opportunities it creates for future generations. Make it a nation that inspires others through wisdom, service, and responsible leadership.
Our Lord, accept from us what is good, forgive our mistakes, guide us to what pleases You, and make us among those who leave this world better than they found it.
