midday sun

midday sun

May 13, 2022

I have some many pictures no one has laid eyes on. This week I sent out a tweet expressing what should I do with them. My friend, Zanade suggested that I do a “From the vault series.” I took her up on the idea. The photos in this project will be raw, real, unedited, remixed, re edited, blurry and missed focus. It’s an honest look at how I see the word around me.

This photo is a first in a series. You may recognize it, because it’s a re edited picture of one you have seen before.

Many of these pictures will have little to no people in them. They were made in the hight of everything that has gone on the past two years.

I made this photo in 2021 when people were still on edge about being in public for any length of time.

I challenged myself with this photo. In the photography industry it is rumored that you can’t make a good picture in the harsh midday sun.

I wanted to try my hand at it.

When I got out of the car, the sun was beaming. I walked around the Jule Collins Smith museum for a while, trying to find something interesting. Nothing really caught my eye.

I decided to put in my AirPods to let the music take me on a journey. I ended up across the street at the new Gogue Performing Arts Center. It’s a beautiful new building I had my eye on since they started it’s construction.

I wondered around and made a few shots. At this point, the midday sun was beating down on me and it was time to go.

This is one of the photos that came out of that moment.

I love how the roofline just flows into the sky.
