Red Collared Lorikeet

This small Psittacine is an Australian native. It is sometimes confused with the related Rainbow Lorikeet. It striking plumage makes for a great subject, and I altered the background to black later to draw attention to it.
One of the most important elements of a good wildlife photo is getting the eyes in focus. A nice catchlight will also bring it more to life.
