New Zealand is home to two forest parrot species. These are the very endangered kakapo (night parrot) and the kaka. The kea is the other parrot and is found in the Alpine region of the South Island.
All have suffered from invasive species, with the Kakapo falling to a population of about 50 birds (12 females) in the mid-1980s. The Kakapo photo is obviously taken at night time. Kaka thrive in where invasive species (including wasps) can be controlled.
All photos can be purchased as a single digital download for the price of '2 coffees' from https://bmc.xyz/l/iejCG8uKo The format is without the watermark and a larger size (1920px on longest edge).
