Tomorrow, the first Friday of October, the whole world will celebrate International Smile Day.
This day was proposed to be celebrated by Harvey Ball (1921 07 10 – 2001 04 12) from the state of Massachusetts, USA. In 1963 commissioned by the insurance company “State Mutual Life Assurance Company of America”, he created a branded smiley sign – a yellow sun with dots-eyes and a smile. This sign quickly became very popular, it began to be used on T-shirts, caps.
World Smile Day has been celebrated since 1999. Harvey Ball, who founded it, encouraged people to share smiles. “Do an act of kindness. Make others happy. This day, help at least one person smile,” he said.
