Wrapping Up Book 5: A Bittersweet Farewell

Hello, fellow bookworms! The past week has been quite a ride - a journey of words, weather, and wanderlust. I'm ecstatic (and somewhat nostalgic) to share that I've finally completed Book 5 in the Burger Wine Estate series. Earlier today, I bid it a fond farewell as I sent it off to my editor. With a bit of luck, it will reach your eager hands by the end of August.

Penning down the narrative of Alan, the youngest of the enigmatic Burger brothers, and Emily, the daughter of the Burger family's nemesis, Charles Du Toit, has been a sheer joy. But as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Writing 'The End' on the last Burger brother's saga tugged at my heartstrings. I've grown tremendously fond of Aurora and her adorable nephews. But as we say goodbye to them, we open the stage to other characters waiting in the wings, ready to spin their own tales.

From Pen to Umbrella: Weather Woes in Austria

Taking a break from the world of fiction, the real world here in Austria has been quite dramatic. The weather has been a relentless opponent, challenging me with sweltering temperatures in the mid-thirties Celsius and a humidity level of 100%! Just as I was growing accustomed to the heat, the skies flipped their mood - it started pouring rain like there's no tomorrow!

A civil defense alert has been sounded in my area due to the possibility of flooding. The guidelines are clear - stay indoors, avoid unnecessary journeys, and respect road closures. Our diligent fire brigades are working round the clock to assist those whose homes have been affected.

Looking Ahead: Prayers and Pages

The weather forecast predicts a respite from the heavy rains by Sunday and, if we're lucky, clear skies by Monday. I count my blessings as my home has been untouched by the flood so far, and I hope it remains so. Let's hold our breath, cross our fingers, and send a silent prayer for those impacted by the flood.

Stay safe, stay dry, and keep flipping those pages, dear readers. I eagerly await the opportunity to share more about my future projects with you. Until then, may your journey through the world of words be a joyous one. Happy reading!image
