I've been using a Pomodoro timer for a while to keep track of my working hours and productivity. I really liked being able to look back at my history and see how much time I had actually spent working.
Then the app changed its pricing, and the history feature that had previously been free became part of the paid version.
I wasn't particularly interested in paying for it, so I thought:
"I guess I'll just make my own." 😅
And since I was already going to make a Pomodoro app, I thought, why not make it fit my own setup too?
I use Omarchy as my operating system, and I've customized my own setup with a cyberpunk aesthetic. So I decided the Pomodoro app should match it too.
That's how CyberPunk Pomodoro was born.
What started as a small personal replacement ended up becoming a much more complete Pomodoro app, with detailed productivity statistics, long term history, custom sounds, import and export, and a completely offline design.
🎵 But I wanted the sounds to be cyberpunk too
One of the things I added that wasn't part of the original Marinara Pomodoro experience was the ability to use your own MP3 files as timer sounds.
So I've been having some fun with it.
Right now my own setup has a few cyberpunk themed sounds, including a variation of the classic game message notification and calling effects and the iconic:
"Wake up, Samurai. We have a city to burn."
I didn't include those sounds directly in the extension because that would be pushing the boundaries a little too far for a fan made, Cyberpunk inspired project. I don't want to bundle copyrighted assets from the game.
Instead, CyberPunk Pomodoro lets you add your own MP3 files.
So if you have your own cyberpunk music, sound effects, voice lines, or whatever else you want to use as your timer notification, you can add them yourself. 😄
That way everyone can customize their own setup without me distributing someone else's assets.
