It has been one week since I posted
While I'm off exploring, I'm offering my time to anyone interested in working in the international art market. Feel free to reach out for a chat, a video call, or coffee anytime!
Quite unexpectedly, this post led to a massive numbers of responses from across the business, ranging from entrepreneurs young and old, to students as well as aspiring and early-career art professionals.
This week, having just left my life in Vienna behind (at least for the time being), and while I'm preparing for a long-term travel trip starting in the States (give me a shoutout if you're in the Richmond VA or D.C. area next month!), I have allocated two full days to speaking with many of the individuals who reached out to me.
I am looking forward to getting to know a little bit about these people and the exciting path they are on. It certainly satisfies my curiosity bone, which was so expertly attended to while working at Christie's and getting to know the world's most fascinating collectors, and art specialists alike.
In preparation for these conversations I have worked on organising my thoughts around my own path through the hiring processes I encountered while navigating art market jobs and companies. I also reviewed my approach to business management as well as major international projects, to ensure I can provide guidance where requested by current and future (major) art market players.
Having surmised that these three are the areas of professional interest that I feel confident discussing, I will work on major take-aways and effort to collate my thoughts into posts on relevant subjects - following next week's discussions.
Feel free to check in from time to time if this niche is of interest to you!
Yours,
Nikki van B
