Last Sunday was Father's Day, and the last (bonus) day of the Well Woman Rest Telegram group experience.
Well, after spending time with my daddy, I got home and within an hour thought "wow, I'm pretty cold."
Next thing I knew, I had a 102.8 F fever. Whew!
Now, I'm not a proponent for taking fever reducers too early because I believe fevers are releasers, cleansers, and healers... so, I allowed myself to settle in with some comforts (plush blankie, warm lemon water, and my cat - Cleo) after letting my mom know I was feverish but well. I knew she'd check on me later on so I could slip into rest and recovery.
My fever started around 5pm and fully broke around 3am (no, I didn't have a high fever the whole time, but as we know happens it rose and fell like a roller coaster). It was a fun ride! LOL.
Here's the part I wanted to share - it was a cathartic experience. Things came up that reminded me of why I am so devoted to ensuring women, and men (as appropriate) feel held. There were parts of my inner child that were weeping and feeling a little abandoned, a little timid, and even a little angry.
I held those parts of me as they came up with deep love and reverence - they were just reliving a perceived childhood wound. I allowed them to weep and tantrum, even as I (the adult me) wept for myself and for them to Abba.
Consecrating the waters of my tears and the waters I drank to bring relief into my body. Ah. Such a reminder of Well Woman Rest and why the story of the woman at the well has always so deeply touched me - to be SEEN and HELD by Mother-Father God is just so beautiful. I truly felt held during my fever.
Shortly after my fever broke I discovered my gut was all out of harmony. I couldn't really eat without setting it off into tightness and twisting. So, the replenishment by waters and teas continued.
My inner waters were being purified, my well refilled and consecrated by love.
Digestion was being cleared - from the physical and emotional morsels of past and present - food and non-food consumption.
Because we become what we consume and we are pained by that which we do not properly digest.
I was cleansed by Holy Fire (fever) and restored by Holy Water (tears and the Eternal Well) after completing Well Woman Rest.
Thank you for your restoration and mine, because when one heals we all begin to heal.
What a Bittersweet ending and Renewal
