The March Newsletter.

imageHey, how’s it going? I hope you are well and had a fantastic week!

The lovely month of March is upon us... And with it come the early days of Spring. Of course, that means new beginnings, rebirth and all of that. But it’s also my Birthday month. Yes, the month of Pisces. The time of the fish! And like a fish out of water, I have been quietly flapping about in an unfamiliar environment since the beginning of March as I finally stopped traveling after 4 months of non stop movement. The life of the traveling musician has slowed for a minute and as he gathers his (fins?) and the Spring equinox approaches, he is excited for what is to come. After all, it is the year of the horse which, after the year of the snake in which we shed our skins, means moving boldly forward with passion and courage, without the fear of obstacles. So as Christy Moore would say, let’s ride on.

Anyway, astrological predictions and musings aside, so far, back in Ireland, I have been gliding through the days of Spring magnificently after a wonderful Wedding celebration last weekend that ran swimmingly into my birthday. Pun intended.

But a lot has happened in the last month and I thought it may be a good time to update you lovely lot on my happenings…

  • One month of 'Road to Mandalay'!

imageSince the release of the new record, we’ve had over 400k streams, a huge amount of radio play across Europe & the States, including rotation on my own personal favourite station ‘Radio Fip’ in France!

We’ve also been played a lot on BBC Radio 6, where we were even given a slot at the ‘Trunk of Funk’ to play a mix we created of the songs we felt most inspired the record. The playlist is on spotify… Feel free to add it to your library: AOL TRUNK OF FUNK

Thank you to all of you who have been listening and to everyone who bought a copy of the record - it means a lot!

  • Album Release Shows & Radio Interviews

imageTo celebrate the album release, I played a number of pop up gigs in record shops and on the radio between Hamburg, Berlin and Dublin as well as a bunch of online interviews. I made a little recap of my promo day in Berlin which is up on my socials if you haven’t seen it… Thanks to all of you who showed up or listened to the radio!

My favourite moment was probably my pal Stevie bringing his own bar equipped with Gin, tonic and even lemons! to the show in Hamburg. Top class stuff! Here's a snap of him in action:

  • ‘All You Need Is Love’ - Beatles with Strings Concert. 14th Feb 2026.

imageOn Valentines day, I performed at a huge Beatles concert in a beautiful church in the small town of Buckeberg in Germany. There were nearly a thousand people in the audience and I got to sing alongside a 10 piece band, 18 piece string section and some incredible international singers.

I feel very honoured to have been a part of it. Thank you to the great George Kochbeck for inviting me. Here's a photo of the setting before the doors! Was magic!

• Protest Songs for the new Revolution - Playlist

Despite all the hopeful beginnings I just spoke about, there is so much pain in the world right now. So I have put together a playlist of protest songs that I feel take a stand against injustice and can work to unite us through turbulent times. (Thanks to Barbara, my girlfriend who made the cover design!)

If you are on the lookout for some new music, go follow the playlist now:

NEW MUSIC

A while back, I asked my mailing list to choose which demo songs I should bring into the studio.

Since then, I have recorded a whole lot of new music and I want you to be involved… I’m trying to decide on what should be the next singles… I'll be uploading some of the tracks in here first for subscribers only - so if you're not already - go sign up now x

(This Sunday, as it’s Paddy’s weekend, I’ll be playing with a banjo player and it will mostly be Irish music. If you’re around, pop in and say hi!)

*It goes from 8-11pm this week.

That's all for now. So much happened the last couple months during my travels that it's hard to get everything shared up here... but anyway, here's a photo of Barbara and I on Jones' street in Greenwich Village, NYC trying to recreate the photo from the cover of the Freewheelin' Bob Dylan! A lot has changed since then!! Snapped by my good pal Sam Nix from my days working at the Howl at the Moon bar in London.

As always, thanks for being here and for supporting me & my art. I really appreciate it.

P.S.

For anyone living in Ireland, my new record is now being stocked in Spin Dizzy Records in Georges St. Arcade in Dublin. So if you wanna support local shops and independent bands at the same time (yay!) pop in and grab one… and don’t forget to send a photo and tag me and the band if you do!
