Friends—so much has happened since I last posted. Please forgive me for missing June and July. I have lived in the Dallas, Texas area for most of my life, but I recently responded to God's calling to pastor a church in Tatum, New Mexico—a truly idyllic small town with a population of about 700—quite a change from the life I have known all these years!
Phil and I have spent the last few weeks moving and adjusting to our new home. My writing efforts have been on pause as we worked to navigate the move and small-town living. It is incredibly peaceful here and the people are warm and welcoming—we feel very blessed to be here! I am also personally honored, humbled, and joyful in my new role in shepherding my congregation.
Being responsible for weekly sermons has certainly kept my writing skills well-honed. We are getting settled in and while it will still be a few weeks before things normalize into a predictable routine that will leave room for a consistent return to my writing endeavors, I am now at a point where I can resume my author career as I always have—something I pursue when I have time available.
I am honored to have been invited to be a featured author at the Texas Word Wrangler Book Festival for the third year in a row and in September, Phil and I will be traveling to Giddings, Texas to do author visits for the rural schools in the area and participating in the book festival.
Regarding "Growing Older with Phil," the sequel to "Growing Up with Eddie," the release date has been delayed. I am so thankful for all of my faithful supporters who continue to contribute to the mission of Nancy Golden Books, and I wanted to take this opportunity to assure you that while "Growing Older with Phil" won't be released this summer as first projected, it will still have a 2026 release. My goal is to have a release in time for Christmas giving.
