I love games featuring dwarves. Probably stems from my love of Khazad Dum in LOTRO. So I've updated my goal, as I'm in the mood for a few dwarven games.
The first game, one that's already out, is Dwarven Fortress. It's a simulation where, from what I've read, anything can happen. It has a lot of moving parts, a learning curve, and the potential for some epic wins ... and fails. Could even be fun to stream, once I've learned it a little.
The second game doesn't come out until Q1 of 2024 and that game is Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor. I played about 20 hours of the demo, absolutely had a blast with this bullet heaven game that takes its lore, look, and style from the game Deep Rock Galactic. Not sure how much it will cost but if the other game's price is any indicator I would say it will be around $30 too.
There may be a third game but there's no release date and only a playable teaser right now. That game is called Return to Nangrim and it looks like it has the potential to be really fun. It definitely looks good!
And perhaps in the future, probably a year out, I'm hoping to see Return to Moria arrive on Steam. This is one I'm really looking forward to trying out as you get to play a dwarf in the Fourth Age, retaking and rebuilding Khazad Dum alone, or with friends.
