I posted my goal last night, as my birthday is coming in a couple of weeks and I had discovered that Elgato came out with a new, less expensive Stream Deck that could meet my expectations.
To my happy surprise, I awoke this morning to an email from Buy Me a Coffee, stating that I'd had a very generous 20 coffee donation from a long time subscriber - Diablaide! With it, was expressed warm birthday wishes. Thank you, Diablaide, for both and I will most certainly have a good birthday.
I'll be honest, before my 50th birthday, I had already ceased celebrating them. Oh, it's another day ending in y, I'd say to people. That was, until late 2020 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was an experience I never thought I'd have and one I wouldn't wish on anyone. But I was fortunate that the area I'd recently moved to has a wonderful VA hospital and they took excellent care of me. Not all VA facilities are so nice (but that's a whole rant of its own). So, don't worry, I'm fine. I've been in remission for 2 years now.
Still, I learned the hard way to appreciate each year that passes. We have a finite time on this planet and each day we get is a gift. Perhaps that's why the immediate moment we're in is called the present? Because it certainly is!
