Another throwback image. Working on a fish processing vessel in Alaska was the re-igniting of my love of photography. The state was so beautiful and there were so many images to capture. I had a good smartphone, but the camera didn’t quite give the control I wanted. So I purchased a digital SLR camera. And the rest is history.
This image was taken on Bristol Bay near Naknek, Alaska. It was mid-June and late at night, around 10:30pm. The sunset and the clouds were so spectacular. A true representation of the land of the midnight sun. The boats that haul crab in the winter often work as salmon tenders during the winter. And on Bristol Bay, Naknek in the summer processes tons of salmon. Often the fishermen and the men who process the fish are working 24/7. So even at 10:30 at night, this vessel is still working.
