Love lost, plus deaths and suicide among my core family and friends, not to mention being broke from unworkable weather and a couple of weeks laid up with Covid, all added up to me finally succumbing to a mental and emotional breakdown late this summer. I simply could not function, and the Warrior Queen I had been so excited about designing languished on my easel with no attention. With September came my saving grace! Our daughter married her Handsome Navy Pilot in the most magical wedding I've ever witnessed! Our son and beautiful daughter-in-law brought a heavenly angel baby girl into this world! (Our first grandbaby!) And a dear friend who moved away to Australia almost two decades ago brought her amazing teenage daughter to New Orleans for a visit! Surrounded by so much love and such beautiful friends and family, I miraculously emerged from my misery, even though the attempted appointments with a therapist had never materialized. Way behind on my work, I have gotten back to painting my Warrior, but with Hallowe'en approaching so fast, I have decided to have her do double duty as my "All Hallow's Eve New Orleans" image, too. I will still print the full length version of her as well, as one of the images in my Zodiac Series to come.
My doctor has requested that I eliminate alcohol consumption from my diet for a few months to see if it improves my blood work, but I can still accept Virtual Beers! Thanks! ~MOUSIE
