𝑨𝒔 𝒂 𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒐 𝒇𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒆 𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒃𝒂𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒃𝒆𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅, I embrace breaking down barriers and challenging stereotypes regarding perusing a passion that is often associated with men. I love that we are continually growing in numbers. Thank you all for joining me and coming along on my adventures.
𝑩𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆: Initially, I explored #ChiangMai on a bicycle after first arriving in 2006. I had been nomadic from a very young age and was excited to start a new chapter in Thailand. I had no mobile phone, nor did I speak the language. Just a compass, a map, and a notebook. After a few years, I realised the bicycle could not realistically take me to the places I wanted to see (or at least not within a reasonable time), so I (nervously) rented a scooter in 2008 and taught myself how to ride it, then took the Thai riding test. In 2009 I bought my Yamaha Fino 115cc, which became my little touring bike. I had so many great adventures on that bike around Northern Thailand until I had a serious accident in rural Thailand, in 2011. It took a while to recover, which is when I realised I really needed a better bike for the road conditions I was riding if I wanted to see more of Thailand. Initially, I rented a small manual bike and taught myself how to ride. Then in 2015, I finally bought my Kawasaki D’tracker 250, which is when the next chapter of fun began.
𝑺𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆 2015 𝑰 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒎𝒆𝒕 𝒔𝒐 𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒛𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒂𝒅 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒃𝒊𝒌𝒆, including solo overland riding in parts of #Laos and #Cambodia. I would like to see more, but having to balance my budget is an issue. I have no complaints though. This is the lifestyle I chose, and I am grateful for it.
