I found a website that shows the number of seeds and number of seeds per plant.
The website is here.
They state that the average seeds per plant is 3.75. That would give me an average of 0.1689.
The average seeds per plant is 6.16. That would give me an average of 0.5166
What am I doing wrong?
The data is from an A.M.I. plant with 20 seeds on each of 4 plants.
I believe the average is a little low. I measured the total of the seeds and then the number of seeds that are on the flower.
From this I calculated an average of 7.5 seeds. With about 15 thousand flowers. My problem is that I don't have a good statistic for the number of seeds that are on the flower, because they fall on the stems without being open. So how was I able to figure out this without counting the seeds that I got and then subtracting that from the actual number of seeds that fell on the stem?
Hi, you should have used a seed counting device (or even your hands).
You may have to dig up the seeds.
If you get a lot of seeds from the flower, then you will have an average.
The more seeds are on the stem, the higher the average.

Do you have data for every single plant? Do you have seeds in the flower?
If you do have seeds in the flower, how many do you get when you open the flower?
How does your web site deal with over or under counting?
The A.M.I. plant has more than 7,000 seeds total. There are a total of 29,800 flowers on each plant. There are 4 plants. So the average is 7,100 (or 7,200 if you like).
