Do you suffer from anxiety? If so, you are not alone. Over 40 million of us suffer from it. For me, I didn't realize I had anxiety until in my last twenties. It wasn't really talked about growing up. I didn't know what anxiety was. Then I learned about it. I researched about it. Turns out, I've had it since I was a kid. Just didn't know! But that is the thing, when we don't know we have something, we can usually cope pretty good with it. Deal with it. I know I could. I dealt with my anxiety and false fear every day. Then I had children. And I noticed my anxiety got worse, with each kid I had had! (And I've got 4 of them).

So what do we do? We take a moment to just B R E A T H E. Sometimes, stopping and just breathing for a moment can help re-enter ourselves. We have to remember, anxiety doesn't control us. We control anxiety. You can also use the 5-4-3-2-1 coping strategy to reducing anxiety as well! This includes: 5 things you can see. 4 things you can feel. 3 things you can hear. 2 things you can smell. 1 thing you can taste.

Just remember:

  • I've survived this before

  • I have the ability to cope

  • I'm stronger than I think

  • My feelings are allowed to be here

  • This feeling will pass

  • I'm not in any real danger
