"You don't have to be great to get started, but you do have to get started to be great." ~Les Brown
I once heard this from the infamous Les Brown many years ago, and it always stuck, and it's meaningful especially now... As I embark on my new found hobby and passion interest of narrating, I find myself often stuck, a common predicament I'm sure, in a rut of "imperfection" as I attempt to get started reading a particular text; at this moment in the year it's The Game of Life & How to Play It by Florence Scovel Shinn.
Since Ms Shinn references various "case studies" in her book, I thought it best to adopt a distinct voice to reflect each person's dilemma to help it stand out more...this was weird as I'm not a comedian but I found it funny listening to myself. Especially funny is the cousin who loans his fellow cousin $3,000... in listening to myself, I sound like the Whimpy figure in the Popeye cartoons! But nevertheless I hope you are enjoying the chapters I've completed so far.
As I'm sure you can imagine, this passion interest of mine is time consuming, with preparing the text, performing vocal reviews and then putting the voice to mic - it's no short and quick endeavor. But I am preparing for the chapter 4 read soon. Thanks for visiting and all your support! 😊
