It's a very dark & atmospheric movie, some great acting. However we felt the movie was too long, an hour from could have easily been cut. Robert Pattinson is a very good Batman & Andy Serkis is brilliant. Some great characters, we are BIG Paul Dano fans. Sadly he wasn't convincing as The Riddler in this movie.

Until now we had the holy Nolan trilogy, I hope and wish the years to come we will have the holy Reeves trilogy. Enough said. People who hasn't seen the long Halloweens animated movies or read the comics year one, hush and the long Halloween maybe won't get the tune of The Batman, for the rest us, we will love it.

This movie's Batman was darker, more serious, very slow, very introverted (which is super interesting and relatable), basically a phlegmatic. He needs time to think, he doesn't make fast decisions even in time of danger. The theme and Batman were super interesting.

I have absolutely no problems with Robert Pattinson.

However, the story felt too long. I didn't find it interesting enough to sit for 3 hours there. The villain didn't feel like the main villain.

It was also super interesting that the story ends with Batman losing. The villain won - killed everyone he wanted and flooded the city. However, there is a spin - Batman learned something. He learned that instead of being vengeance, he needs to be hope.

I'm waiting forward to the next movie!

It's not bad but it's really not as great as a lot of people are claiming it is. The plot is very unimpressive, the casting is very hit and miss. The best actor is Colin Farrell who really did his homework and plays Penguin exceptionally well. Pattinson is ok but there is an angst to him that is not very Batman-like. For me, Ben Affleck is still the best Batman yet. Dano is ok when he is unmasked but otherwise he really has nothing in common with the Riddler. The third act is just atrocious. Too much wokeism for Batman, if there is one character DC should protect from progressive propaganda, it's Batman. They don't, unfortunately. It's not a bad movie, like I said, it's just that my feeling is we just didn't need this at all at this moment. Affleck's version of what he wanted to do with the character was much more interesting and if that was sacrificed for this, well, that's yet another mistake for DC.

Batman has had lots of movies through the years and he did a bit of detective work, but not much. So this movie obviously wanted to showcase this ability of The Batman and it does so very well having a very good set of villains as this Riddler is much more what I am used to in the comics, the Penguin is not some mutated dude raised by penguins and corruption is the key to everything. We get a new Batman in Robert Pattison and he does a very good job, more dark and brooding and without all the growling and shouting of Bale's. The movie is dark and just very interesting as it truly had me wondering who and what was the endgame. However, there is action, so do not let people try to say that the film is absent of some good old punching!

The story, key political figures are being dispatched, first it is the mayor. The person responsible leaves chilling riddles behind and seems to be taking an interest in Batman who is already Batman so no origin story here. Batman is already working with Gordon and looks over the crime scene. Soon things start to point to this person or that and even Bruce's father may have a part in it as the Riddler's game turns out to be even more heinous than even Batman could guess!

Pattison was very good as Batman, he was not super muscular like the Batman in the comics, but really the only guy who pumped up for the role was Ben Affleck's Batman. I would put Robert in a tie with Bale in second as they both look fit, but not really jacked up. Colin is great as the Penguin and I was totally surprised to find Andy Serkis was Alfred. I kept thinking I know him from somewhere, but I guess I just did not think of the actor as old enough to be Alfred. Zoe Kravitz is a rather good Catwoman, not quite Michelle's but better than the one from Rising. The Batmobile I rather liked, like the Batmobile fused with Mad Max's vehicle!

So, this film was good, I would say it is my fave Batman, but one always tends to fall in love with something when they see it for the first time, so I'll hold judgement. I am very curious to see where this is going and if they team up who I think they are going to team up, that would be really cool. I definitely think Robert can do the job, was not a fan of Twilight, but come on, everyone has to get their start somewhere, and he was so dark in this film, most will forget that he ever sparkled.

Watched this last night, thought it was excellent. Batman doing what he is a master of, being a detective. No silly costume clad super villains, no massive cgi, no ridiculous super powers to fit the storyline. Just a realistic gritty dark Seven esque detective story that brings you into the pain and awkwardness of Bruce Wayne and his alter ego. This is no Marvel type film. This is Batman in his rawness, still learning how to be The Bat. Can't wait for the next installment, hopefully set around year 6 (this is year 2)

I think I may have a new favourite Bat film. Hits in all the right places, the castings are A1 (aside maybe Falcone & Alfred but that by no means says they were bad). Pattinson NAILS the Bat & Bruce combo. 3hrs and I loved every minute of it. The aesthetic was absolutely on point and Gotham was Gotham as it should be. I want more!

I did not know what to expect with this film. The Batman was a different and dark film. I enjoyed seeing him become as a detective who tried to solve a puzzle. They let go off the playboy billionaire and focused more on life as The Batman. I am grateful they didn't show how he became Batman and the death of his parents, almost everyone on the planet knows this origin story. Pattinson is a great Batman and brings this dark, broken and complicated Batman to life. This Batman seems like a more realistic vigilante for the adults who has his own issues. It reminded me of some of the darker batman comics that I loved reading. Cat woman, Penguin and Gordon were a great support to this film. Amazing make up for Collin Farrell. Great direction that really set a somber setting. The only thing I would say is there was so much going on in this film that certain elements could have their own storylines. I liked how they showed the radicalisation of people that occurred online, something sadly happening a lot these days. A great intriguing universe has spawned from this Batman. So many great characters, backstories and enigmas. I wasn't blown away by the film but pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it. This was a win to stick to one main story and plot. I look forward to anything that could develop further in this space.

Acting, cinematography, background score and theme song, story, everything is perfect, best thing I have seen in recent times, there is no need to compare it with the nolan trilogy, I've enjoyed both, both are amazing.

Batman looks super weak, and even the other characters are very uncharacteristic.

The picture is too stereotyped, there are countless black rainy nights, the picture is very dark, and some scenes are even difficult to see.

The main storyline is very, very boring, just watching Riddler solve puzzles, Batman solving puzzles, and then it's endless boring.

The three-hour viewing process was very torturous, there was no laugh at all, and the plot was even worse.

The Batman is better than The Dark Knight. This is what a Batman cinematic movie should of always been. It was dark yet action packed with one of the best batmobiles of all time. Zoe was pretty good as catwomen; she's my second favorite after Michelle Pfeiffer.

I caught this movie for a 9:45pm viewing with a small group of about 20 people. I'll share the experience so you can understand a bit about how I perceived the film.

This movie is very long for a Batman film. It is very slow moving and for that reason some people may not like it. One hour into the film I got bored fast and I was not the only one. Two guys behind me started smoking a joint. Both fell asleep and we had to get staff to wake them up after the movie was over. The three people in front of me fell asleep and two others to my right fell asleep (one of them snored). So literally half of the people in attendance fell asleep. I think I was the oldest in attendance at 40 and everyone else in their early twenties.

This Batman movie flows in two specific styles and changes up often. It was done heavily in the Francis Ford Coppola style of directing. Think of how The Godfather was filmed. That is basically the style throughout the first 2/3rds of the movie and then the final parts of the movie was like watching a Star Wars battle scene.

The music was all over the place and the acting was really low quality. I think this Batman actor was probably worst than Val Kilmer. Zoe Kravitz did an excellent job as Catwoman and she was probably the best part of this film. The rest of the actors were not built for this genre or style and it showed with their weird and quirky expressions.

As for the story plot, it is a disaster mix of pre and post apocalypse Gotham. It is clear they were going for the events leading up to the apocalyptic downfall of Gotham while merging elements of post-Gotham. They jumped around too much and tried to tie characters to each other which they did well.

After the movie was over quite a few people expressed disappointment. We looked at each other and had the same feel that this was a waste of three hours.

The movie has it's moments but a lot of potential was ruined by poor casting choices.
