Stories from a life in music — I write songs, articles, teach the guitar, perform live and the unfinished books and albums are on the way. This is the time to start finding a way out there and communicating with the world - hello!
I graduated in Sociology, trained and worked as a local newspaper journalist, started working outdoors in conservation, travelled some, did an MA in tourism management and started performing and recording with my own songs and bands from 1997 to 2000, Indian Runner and Kaikoura until 2000. Around 2005 I started playing live, teaching the guitar, running nights and sometimes took jobs in education with teaching qualifications. I still do this. I also fronted bands The Raincatchers and Sweeney Astray from 2010.
I've been filling notebooks with stories and playing music in all kinds of circumstances for five decades. It's all I ever truly wanted to do.
I'm happy to share anything I picked up on the way for anybody who wants to enjoy the same kind of journey. If it's useful.
