I’m so excited to share that my photo of two boxing kangaroos at sunset was shortlisted for the grand prize in the 2025 Pangolin Photo Challenge "Out of Africa" category — and while I didn't win this time 😊, I'm truly happy it made the shortlist. The competition was fierce and the standard incredibly high. Picking even my own favourites among the other entries was hard. There's always next year. 🤞
The kangaroos are Kangaroo Island kangaroos (Macropus fuliginosus fuliginosus), a subspecies found only on Kangaroo Island — shorter, darker, and in my entirely unbiased opinion, considerably cuter than their mainland cousins.
