"Mickey Tenner was a legendary London mod in the first wave of modism, frequenting the Scene Club, Ready Steady Go and the Flamingo. He was "in with the in crowd" as the song once said and created an art form out of dancing, dressing and having a good time. If there was a Mod Hall of Fame, Mickey's statue would be there." Steve Turner, 2021

"Here’s a club which caters for your need -  The Scene Club. You’re out there on the dance floor by yourself, hogging the limelight, because that’s all a man does when he dances. I don’t know about women. I think women feel the same as well. But if a man dances around, or just bops around to a record, doing the ‘Monkey Time’ or stuff like that because someone else is doing it and little Mickey Tenner is out there doing it as well. Everyone’s out on the pills and you’re doing it just to records. You’re free. You’re free of time and space inasmuch as the only space involved is the space in your head and that’s really spaced when you’re on speed." Peter Meaden to Steve Turner, 1975.
Thanks, Steve
