Howdy!
I’ve been hard at work behind the scenes developing new production techniques to take my music to a higher professional level. Over the last few years, I’ve learned an immense amount, and I’m finally at a point where I’m ready to start distributing my music to the world.
For the past month, I’ve been working off and on a special reissue project. What started as the Art Video Suite is evolving into a brand-new version titled Into The Dreamscapes. This will be the first of three EPs sharing a similar musical style. My ultimate plan is to combine the tracks from all three EPs into a massive full-length album featuring complete symphonic band versions of the songs.
This project has been quite a journey. A little over a year ago, I started a remix and remaster of this EP. I wasn't fully satisfied with the results, so I shelved it until I could do it justice. Recently, I went completely back to the drawing board. I re-edited all of the sheet music scores to streamline my DAW project files. Just this week, I spent three days working on the dual-guitar versions, but I still felt they weren't perfect.
So, I decided to redo all the audio from scratch. Thankfully, having the project files already set up made the process much smoother. I finished tracking the new versions yesterday. Last night, I successfully mixed and mastered everything. I still need to do the classic "car test," but outside of that, I think they sound fantastic.
Next up, I’ll be spending the coming week working on the piano versions. Once all the tracks are finalized, I'll dive into the artwork and map out what I want to do from there.
Looking further ahead, I'm planning to release these reissues in their original chronological order, which means a reissue of Acoustica may be next. There is one specific version on Acoustica that didn't age well for me after making a music video for it, and I want to fix that. On the other hand, I'm still incredibly happy with the Remembering Piano Suite I released earlier this year, so that one will remain exactly as it is.
Please note that once these reissues are officially live, I may discontinue the original versions. I will also be creating new videos to match the updated audio. However, for Phantom Lake, my goal is to find the original video project file and simply swap in the new master. I absolutely love that video and want to keep it intact!
