Understanding Connector and Movement Cards in Kipper
Some cards don’t act alone. They link, thread, or carry a storyline forward. These are the cards that show connection and motion—bridges and pathways in a Kipper spread.
Connector Cards
Connector Cards are deeply relational—they show how two people, energies, or situations are tied together. These cards don’t act alone. They are situational glue, binding the cards to their left and right in a cause, experience, or tension.
You can think of them like a charm knot: they don’t tell the whole story alone, but they define the relationship between the threads on either side of them. Their full message is only revealed when you examine:

What’s on the right
💡 These cards aren’t good or bad by themselves—the context of connection defines their meaning.

These cards show how two people or situations are tied—not whether it’s good or bad. That depends on the cards they connect.

These cards feel liminal. They’re not quite initiations, and not quite conclusions—they’re what tie one part of the story to another. I see them as spellcraft crossroads: moments to examine what’s keeping you tethered or connected.

Lay three cards: [A] – [Connector] – [B]. Ask:
What joins these two forces?
Is this a bond of support, stress, or sacred contract?
Does something here need to be untied, deepened, or clarified?
Movement Cards
Movement Cards don’t just show what’s happening—they show what’s moving, where it’s going, and what set it in motion. These are not about people—they are about energetic redirection, travel, exchange, and evolution.
Each Movement Card flows in a particular direction, and understanding the directionality is crucial to interpreting:
The origin of the motion
The destination or outcome

🧭 Reading Movement Cards:
Look at where the energy starts (based on card direction)
See what’s being left behind and what’s being approached
Use surrounding cards to determine what's changing and why

To me, these cards feel like ley lines—subtle but powerful undercurrents that shape the outcome of the reading. They tell me where the energy wants to go, or where the querent may be called to follow.
These are amazing cards to use in spell planning:
Road opening? Follow the trail of Change.
Petitioning abundance? What’s being offered through Gift?
Needing clarity on the future? A Long Way shows the horizon.

Pull a Movement Card. Place one card in the direction it's flowing from, and one in the direction it’s flowing to. Ask:
What’s the nature of this journey?
What sparked it? What’s waiting at its end?
Where does magic need to intervene—or simply support the motion?
