Thanksgiving Edition!…

Turkey has a number of positive affects on the body and mind. Turkey contains the amino acid Tryptophan which helps create neurotransmitters serotonin and melatonin. It is a myth that Turkey alone will make you tired, it’s rather the combination of eating a food with tryptophan in combination with a lot of food & carbohydrates that makes you sleepy and lethargic. To avoid this limit portions and amount of heavy carbs (or just tell me to be quit since that’s the best part). Turkey is also a low glycemic food that won’t pike your blood sugar, but don’t forget to monitor seasoning/sauce/sides. Turkey is good for digestion and immunity, along other benefits. A study also showed tryptophan improves cognition function on memory and attention. While Turkey has good protein and benefits, remember everything is about moderation. Excessive intake will not equal better results.
