One of the things I often talk about on this channel is the differences in how society and the government treats men and women on various issues. Things like the overwhelming disparity and fact that men are more likely to be homeless or denied access to domestic violence assistance.
One argument that is often made is that the need for social support networks is far greater for women than it is for men and that's why most of the funding goes towards helping women despite as I just stated in many instances the need for help for men far FAR outweighs the needs of women.
Another excuse you'll often hear is that men don't take advantage of assistance as much as men and therefore it is a waste of time and money to focus on them.
So let me ask you...
How important do you think social support networks are for men facing challenges or discrimination? and
What can be done to strengthen those networks so that they are better able to meet the needs of men and give them the assistance they need?
