About Manuel Ceniceros
I create black and white photographs of the unseen world around us.
I began my career as a photojournalist, 44 years ago, working for both news services and news magazines. I covered mainly hard news and sports. Being a photojournalist I also saw a lot of the unpleasantness of life, such as the San Diego McDonalds massacre of 1984 and the Mexico City Earthquake in 1985. After the birth of my first child I decided to change my photographic path. Since then I’ve been a fashion photographer for the last 36 years. After retiring a few years ago I decided to continue with my passion for photography for myself.
My neurodivergence helps me see the beauty and strength in the mundane. What others dismiss and walk by, I find magical. I photograph mainly in black and white to remove the reality from the image and allow the viewer see what I saw before taking the photograph.
