The KNTFL Run Home

The KNTFL Run Home

Jul 23, 2024

Only four rounds remain in the Kowree Naracoorte/Tatiara Football League season before the finals start. The run home for each team will provide challenges as the final positions for a finals spot take place

1. Kybybolite 11 wins 1 loss 234.35 %

Round 13 Padthaway (Home)

Round 14 Penola (Away)

Round 15 Kingston (Away)

Round 16 Bordertown (Home)

Outlook: The Tigers look set for top spot with a good run home. You would expect Kybybolite to win the next three games before they face Bordertown. The Tigers would seal the top position by winning their next three before facing Mundulla.

2. Mundulla 10 wins 2 losses 197.79 %

Round 13 Border Districts (Away)

Round 14 Keith (Home)

Round 15 Lucindale (Away)

Round 16 Kingston (Home)

Outlook: Mundulla has a bit of a testing two weeks coming up with the Eagles and the Crows back to back. Then they have two games they will be heavy favourites to win. The Tigers have got themselves into a good position to finish top two and to be ready for another finals campaign.

3. Keith 9 wins 3 losses 146.93 %

Round 13 Lucindale (Home)

Round 14 Mundulla (Away)

Round 15 Naracoorte (Home)

Round 16 Padthaway (Away)

Outlook: The Crows look set to finish third and be in the qualifying final when the finals start. With their percentage better than Bordertown or Border Districts, the Crows might only need two wins to seal a top three finish.

4. Bordertown 7 wins 5 losses 130.35 %

Round 13 Naracoorte (Home)

Round 14 Padthaway (Away)

Round 15 Penola (Home)

Round 16 Kybybolite (Away)

Outlook: It looks like Bordertown will be in the elimination final. The Roosters need one of the top three teams to stumble big time for them to have a shot at climbing back inside the top three.

5. Border Districts 7 wins 5 losses 129.82%

Round 13 Mundulla (Home)

Round 14 Naracoorte (Away)

Round 15 Padthaway (Home)

Round 16 Penola (Away)

Outlook: The Eagles are going to get a chance to defend their title in the finals at this stage. In a situation like Bordertown, the Eagles would need one of the top three teams to fall over for them to be able to grab the double chance.

6. Padthaway 5 wins 7 losses 79.27%

Round 13 Kybybolite (Away)

Round 14 Bordertown (Home)

Round 15 Border Districts (Away)

Round 16 Keith (Home)

Outlook: Padthaway's finals chances are not impossible but they are very slim. The Lions play four teams inside the top 5 in their last 4 games. Funnier things have happened but I can't see them winning all four to make it.

7. Lucindale 4 wins 8 losses 89.79 %

Round 13 Keith (Away)

Round 14 Kingston (Home)

Round 15 Mundulla (Home)

Round 16 Naracoorte (Away)

Outlook: The Roos are playing for pride now and would be looking at games against Kingston and Naracoorte as chances to add wins on the board.

8. Penola 4 wins 8 losses 71.19 %

Round 13 Kingston (Home)

Round 14 Kybybolite (Home)

Round 15 Bordertown (Away)

Round 16 Border Districts (Home)

Outlook: Penola has four more games in the KNTFL to play and will be hoping they can finish strong and grab a few wins before they end the season. The Eagles might have two chances to get more wins when they face Kingston and maybe a slight chance against Border Districts. The last game may bring added confidence to leave the league on a winning note.

9. Kingston 3 wins 9 losses 66.39%

Round 13 Penola (Away)

Round 14 Lucindale (Away)

Round 15 Kybybolite (Home)

Round 16 Mundulla (Away)

Outlook: The next two games seem the Saints' best chances to get a few more wins. Two away games but Kingston will be determined to get something out of the season.

10. Naracoorte 0 wins 12 losses 25.69 %

Round 13 Bordertown (Away)

Round 14 Border Districts (Home)

Round 15 Keith (Away)

Round 16 Lucindale (Home)

Outlook: The Demons have had a hard season and it won't get any easier over the next month. Lucindale in the last game looks to be their best chance to finish the season on a high note.
