Mundulla won through to the grand final in the reserves after they had a tough victory over a determined Kingston team.

Mundulla did most of the attacking in the first quarter. After 5 minutes of scrappy play from both teams, Mundulla scored the first goal through Billy Wiese after he ran onto a kick from William Lowe and ran into the open goal. Wade Packer got the Tigers' second goal of the game as the Tigers looked right on top in the early play. Mundulla soon had their third goal as Luke Scown found Billy Wiese lose inside the 50 and he turned around and easily put through his second goal of the game. Wade Packer bobbed up as he added another goal to the Tigers tally. Mundulla kept attacking and Kingston was under fire in the backline. Darcy Wright started the game very well in defence for the Saints. Mundulla went into quarter-time 26 points ahead. Kingston tried hard to get good play going but couldn't be clean with the ball use. Henry Rothall, Philip McBride and Cody Benson were the Saints' best in the first quarter. Wade Packer looked dangerous for Mundulla and Billy Wiese's speed was causing problems for the Saints.

Kingston began the second quarter much better than the first as Jeremy Braithwaite sent the ball forward where Josh Troeth marked and goaled from the point of the square to give Kingston their first goal of the game. Billy Wiese got the reply after he was awarded a free kick in front of the goals from 40 metres out. Mundulla were keeping Kingston at arm's length. Some smart work and a handpass over the top of a Kingston defender from Billy Wiese set up Luke Scown to kick a goal for Mundulla as the margin pushed out to 31 points. Mackenzie Pickering, Marcus Young and Luke Scown were doing some great things for Mundulla. Kingston got a reply when Henry Goode scooped up the ball 70 metres out from the Saints goal and handpassed to Henry Rothall who did a quick kick inside the forward 50 where Gabe Cox used his speed to run onto the ball and run into the open goal to bring the margin back to 25 points. Mundulla again had the answer as Jarred Wiese laid a good tackle and got rewarded with a free kick and put through the goal. Mundulla were back out to a margin of 32 points. Billy Wiese, Makenzie Pickering and Thomas Perry were playing good football for Mundulla. Kingston wouldn't go away as Henry Rothall who was playing a great game was able to kick a goal for the Saints and have the margin back 26 points in favour of Mundulla. The Saints were getting great service from George Brice-Marwood, Henry Goode and Brandon Tapfield during the second quarter. Jason Milligan had some important ruck taps as well around the ground. Kingston stayed close at the long break after George Brice-Marwood won a free kick and kicked a goal on the halftime siren to bring the margin back to 20 points at the long break.

Kingston was right back in the contest in the third quarter and had most of the play in their forward half. Cody Benson was huge in the third quarter as he started to put his stamp on the game and take some big marks. George Brice-Marwood, Jordan Richards, Brandon Tapfield and Darcy Wright were important contributors during the third quarter for the Saints. Wade Packer was working hard defensively for Mundulla. Wade ran back to help the Tigers' defence continuously. Kingston kept the attack going as Luke Watson kicked the only goal for the third quarter to cut the margin to 13 points. Jason Milligan's ruck tapping was great to watch. He combined well with Cody Benson to get clearances for Kingston. Mundulla kept pressing but Brandon Tapfield was leading a strong defence for the Saints. Mackenzie Pickering, Marcus Young and Thomas Perry were strong in the third quarter for Mundulla. Mundulla went into three-quarter time 12 points ahead.

Both teams were hard at the ball in the fourth quarter. Kingston's Cody Benson laid some strong tackles and took some great marks as he tried to lift the Saints. Jason Milligan continued his ruck taps to his teammates but they couldn't take advantage enough of them. Kingston couldn't find a way to kick a goal in the fourth quarter. Mundulla's Billy Wiese continued to be a thorn in the Saints team as he used his speed to break away whenever he got the ball. Mundulla sealed the win after Wade Packer took a mark from the kick-in and quickly handed the ball to Luke Wiese who found a leading Billy Wiese in the forward pocket. Billy went back and slotted the sealing goal to put Mundulla ahead by 18 points. Mundulla proved too strong on the day and earned their grand-final spot with a solid performance. Kingston now faces Keith to try and make it into the grand final and get a rematch with Mundulla.
