About Matt Evans
I build apps, print cool stuff, and stream it all live.
Hey, I'm Matt Evans 👋
I'm a maker, developer, and tech tinkerer who genuinely can't stop building things — physical and digital. If I'm not sketching out an idea, I'm probably already three prototypes deep. Making stuff is just how my brain likes to spend its time, and this page is where you can help keep that going.
The 3D printing world
A big chunk of my time lives at MattMakes3D.com, my home base for all things printed. That ranges from genuinely useful, problem-solving prints to fun passion projects — including Star Wars–themed builds for the office that probably take way longer than they should. If something can be designed and printed, there's a good chance I've already got a prototype half-finished on the bed and three more ideas queued up behind it.
The apps & code
On the software side, I build and ship real apps — like Trident Tracker — and I'm in the middle of open-sourcing my projects. That means the code goes out into the world for free, so anyone can learn from it, build on top of it, or remix it into something of their own. I believe the good stuff should be shared, not locked away.
The blog
I also write over at mattevanstech.com, where I dig into tech, share what I'm learning, and document the projects, tools, and ideas I'm tinkering with. If you like going a little deeper than a stream or a post allows, that's the place.
Catch me live every week
I stream regularly, and I'd love to have you hang out:
- Tuesdays — Maker Show Live with Chris Pirillo, where we geek out over making, tech, and all things maker.
- Wednesdays — Vibe Code Live on Twitch, where I vibe code apps live and answer your questions in real time.
- Thursdays — Ctrl + Alt + Create Live Weekly Streams, a separate session with its own flavor for building and tinkering alongside you.
No gatekeeping, no pretending I have it all figured out — just good vibes, good code, and a few "wait, why isn't this working?" moments along the way.
The setup obsession
And when I'm not printing, coding, streaming, or writing, you'll usually find me fussing over my home office, chasing that perfect desk aesthetic one cable-management fix at a time. It's a problem. I've made peace with it.
Why your support matters
Here's the honest part: printers eat filament, apps take time to build, streams take hours to prep, posts take time to write, and keeping things free and open-source means I'm pouring real work into stuff I give away on purpose. If you enjoy the prints, the builds, the streams, the posts, the apps, or just the chaotic joy of watching someone make things, tossing me a pizza helps keep it all alive — the printers running, the streams going, the apps free and open, and the ideas flowing.
Every slice genuinely fuels the next print, the next app, the next stream, the next post, and the next open-source release. Thank you for being here and being part of it. 🙌
