I've been trying to be a little more consistent with my posting. With each bike commute post I'm now looking for little moments that I can turn into tiktok videos and YouTube shorts. It's not much, just moments where there's more cars than bikes on the road, or where something nice happens.
The results have been positive. The videos get pushed into more feeds, more people see them and more people comment. It's not all nice comments, but I'm doing my best to delete the trolls and move on.
Oh, but the trolls really are something, eh? So predictable. Most of them say something along the lines of, "try that in the winter". Yes, I have, I do, this is Toronto. Biking in the winter is not difficult.
Anyway, nice to see these kinds of metrics. Hopefully it helps normalize riding a bike and shifts the culture away from the mean-spirited crap.
