An unexpected encounter in the moors
The ginger dot stood out in the yet-to-bloom heather. The animal’s delicate features contrasted with the harsh-looking backdrop. No matter how much I zoomed in with my mobile phone camera lens, it was only with my eyes that I was able to appreciate this Bambi-like creature.
We’d been too busy to notice the deer. We had just reached the shooting range trying to find an alternative route to Marsden when the warning signs about red flags started.
That’s when we saw the fawn. Quiet and unafraid, it looked at us with a mix of curiosity and reservation. It, then, turned around and galloped off, leaving us with a beautiful memory of a red vision in the yet-to-bloom heather.
