Okay so I'm back online properly now ... its still the school holidays here in New Zealand but I've spent enough time with the kids and am ready to crack back into it.
The school holidays have been a lot of fun for us - Phil had 3 weeks off and we made the most of the time we had with him. We don't often venture far from our house over the holidays; its just a lot easier for us that way.
So we did a lot of day trips - visited beaches, visited family, went for bike rides, had picnics, watched movies.
We also hung out together a lot at home and honestly it was just what we all needed - gaming together (whether it was board games or computer games) with our kids is by far one of the best things we do. Everyone loves it and we all have so much fun!
More often than not we ended up at my in-laws house for a swim at the end of each day ... not gonna lie, it's pretty cool having a family member with a pool. I will always be annoyed at my parents for selling our family home (which had a pool) haha ...
How am I doing mentally? Well I've come a long way mentally since this time last year, when I was slowly unravelling.
I'm still sorting through shit, and my weekly therapy sessions resume next week. I've got things I need to put in place to ensure I stay in a good headspace but I know life isn't perfect and it will still have its ups and downs.
Chloe starts Year 8 (last year at intermediate school) next week, and Ronan starts Year 6 (last year at primary school), so it's a milestone year for both of them.
Phil and I also have to make the big decision on where to send Chloe to High School. We aren't in zone for the one we want, so we will be crossing our fingers and toes that we get in. It does help Phil went to the school, as did his Dad, and cousins. Because of this we will have to keep our options open and look at other schools just in case.
Ughhhh I hate that kinda stress
